Prototypes
Working prototypes designed, built, tested and debugged, so you can prove an idea before committing to production.
Fine Pitch Design, part of Applied AI Solutions, is a small electronics consultancy specialising in prototypes, IoT and embedded firmware. We take your product from a requirement to tested, working hardware, with the design done carefully by the people you speak to.
Fine pitch: component leads spaced 0.5 mm apart or less. The point where layout gets difficult and care starts to show.
Working prototypes designed, built, tested and debugged, so you can prove an idea before committing to production.
Sensors, low-power design and wireless connectivity over Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN or cellular, chosen to suit where the product will be used.
Low-level drivers, connectivity and application firmware, written alongside the hardware so the two arrive together.
Layouts checked against what your assembler can build, delivered with a clean fabrication and assembly pack.
Circuit design and component selection, then dense, fine-pitch layout with a stack-up that suits the product.
An independent check of your schematic or layout before you commit money to a build.
We agree the requirement, the constraints, the cost target and what finished looks like, in writing, before any design starts.
Schematic first, then layout, with a review at each stage so you can see the decisions and question them.
Prototypes are built and tested against the requirement. Problems found at this stage are fixed at this stage.
You receive the complete design files, the manufacturing pack and the test notes, ready for your manufacturer.
Fine Pitch Design is part of Applied AI Solutions, specialising in prototypes, IoT products and embedded firmware. It is led by an electronics engineer with more than 25 years in hardware, embedded and IoT product development, including time as managing director of an electronics design consultancy and CTO of an industrial wearables company.
That experience covers sensor-to-cloud IoT systems, ATEX-certified wearables for oil and gas and construction, battery storage and smart heating controllers, and machine learning on embedded devices, with products taken through EMC, RF and mobile-network certification, and five pending patent applications in wearable safety technology.
Staying small means you deal directly with the engineer doing the work, and nothing gets lost between the first call and the schematic.
A few lines on what you are building and where you are stuck is enough to start.
